Manchester Property Developers Fined for Breach of Fire Safety Regulations 20/09/2011

Two property developers in Manchester have been fined after one of their buildings was found to be in breach of fire safety regulations. Cost Design and UK Real Estate were fined a total of £14,479 at Manchester magistrates court after pleading guilty to failing to comply with building regulations. more info

Takeaway Owner Fined £12k for Fire Safety Breaches 19/09/2011

A takeaway owner in Southampton has been fined nearly £12,000 after breaching fire safety regulations. Iskender Anik, owner of the Istanbul Grill in Eastleigh, pleaded guilty to five breaches of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 at Southampton magistrates court. more info

Suspended prison sentence for building owner’s fire safety breaches 16/09/2011

A London building owner has been given a six month suspended prison sentence after being convicted of seven offences under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Saif Ahmed was sentenced on 14 September after being found guilty of four offences at a trial at Tower Bridge magistrates’ court on 1 June 2011. Mr Ahmed had already admitted three other offences at an earlier hearing. more info
