Pub landlord fined £4,000 under Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order. 01/07/2008

A pub landlord has been successfully prosecuted for ten separate breaches of fire safety legislation, which meant his pub had failed to meet the legal standards for fire safety. The charges were brought under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2006 (RRO) against Paul Dailey, the proprietor of the George and Dragon public house in Berkshire. more info

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service vs. John Nevins 17/06/2008

On Tuesday 17th June 2008 Mr J Nevins owner of the Brandon House Hotel appeared in Ipswich Crown Court for sentencing, following his guilty plea to breaches of fire safety legislation at an earlier hearing on the 20th May 2008. At this hearing, Mr Nevins pleaded guilty to 4 offences under the Fire Precautions Act 1971, he also asked for 2 other offences to be taken into consideration for sentencing.  more info

Company ordered to pay £17,000 for fire safety breaches 09/06/2008

P.T.F Properties Limited pleaded guilty to four fire safety breaches and was ordered to pay the fines and costs by West London Magistrates Court at a hearing on 21 May 2008. On 1 April 2007 a fire started in a first floor flat above a café in King Street, Hammersmith. Eight fire engines and around 40 fire-fighters were needed to tackle the blaze.  more info
