Pub company fined £15,000 in fire safety prosecution 12/02/2010

A pub management company has been convicted of offences under fire safety law following a hearing at North Wiltshire Magistrates' Court on Tuesday. Publicana Ltd was fined £15,000 for the offences under the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 and was ordered to pay the prosecution's costs.  more info

Chinese restaurant guilty of fire safety breaches 26/10/2009

A former restaurant manager has been ordered to pay over £7,000 in fines and costs after pleading guilty to serious breaches of fire safety legislation following a prosecution brought by the London Fire Brigade. Mr Wei Chen was managing Kan's Chinese and Thai Cuisine at the time of the breaches admitted guilt on 10 contraventions of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Sentencing occurred on Monday 26 October 2009 at Highbury Corner Magistrates Court. more info

Punch Pub Company guilty of fire safety breaches 03/09/2009

A national pub group has been ordered to pay over £17,000 in fines and costs after pleading guilty to serious breaches of fire safety legislation following a prosecution brought by the London Fire Brigade. Punch Pub Company Limited (formerly known as Spirit Group Limited) admitted guilt on two contraventions of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Sentencing occurred on Thursday 3 September 2009 at the City of Westminster Magistrates Court. more info
