Lives ‘put at risk by hotel owner’ 26/05/2010

A Hotel owner has been fined for breaching fire regulations and putting guests' lives at risk. Subhash Jajoo, owner of the Pack Horse Hotel in Nelson Square, Bolton town centre, appeared at Bolton Magistrates Court and pleaded guilty to five charges brought by Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service.   more info

Hotel fined £15,000 for six breaches of fire safety law 09/04/2010

A Surrey hotel with no working fire alarm and disabled self-closures on fire doors has been fined £15,000 and ordered to pay costs of £4,800. Chalk Lane Hotel Ltd pleaded guilty to six breaches of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order at Redhill Magistrates Court on 30 March.  more info

Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service vs. John Nevins 17/06/2008

On Tuesday 17th June 2008 Mr J Nevins owner of the Brandon House Hotel appeared in Ipswich Crown Court for sentencing, following his guilty plea to breaches of fire safety legislation at an earlier hearing on the 20th May 2008. At this hearing, Mr Nevins pleaded guilty to 4 offences under the Fire Precautions Act 1971, he also asked for 2 other offences to be taken into consideration for sentencing.  more info
